Illua is a Greenlandic Eskimo word and means ‘the only one’. The first part of the word Illu means building, house and also igloo.

My company ILLUA is based in the sprawling forests and is at the heart of the mountain areas of Jokkmokk. Although focused in this area, my work takes me to many different locations in the Lapland region.

Over several years I have developed a skill for building igloos. This skill is now put to use when taking visitors out on igloo tours. The latest addition to the igloo building tour is a BIG igloo expedition. This is offered together with specially designed snow activities and events.
